How To Treat Yeast Infection Effectively

Published on Apr 10th, 2010 under Cure Yeast Infection.By

Vaginal yeast infection isn’t really debilitating and or life-threatening and is not considered to be a sexually transmitted disease either. However, this doesn’t mean that we don’t need to take it seriously and it will pass by eventually. This is one of the infections I would never want to have again. I had a chronic vaginal yeast infection for almost eight months and Yeast Infection until now I am doing my best for it not to recur again. Having to deal with all its accompanying symptoms every day during those eight months is a misery and I couldn’t imagine how I was able to survive the pain and burning sensations the yeast infection caused me. At first, I wasn’t so sure that it was a yeast infection until I felt the excruciating pain during urinating and the intolerable vaginal itchiness that topical relievers can’t alleviate start to appear and of course the appearance of white cheesy discharge. After my doctor confirmed that it was a yeast infection, my battle to cure yeast infection permanently started.

I took several yeast infection drugs and treatments hoping to end this misery but this only made my situation worse or has been effective only for a limited period of time and left me still infected at the end of the day. Then an online friend who is on the same shoes as mine suggested a yeast infection treatment which she is currently undergoing. Believing that it will work for me just like it worked for her, I blindly purchased the yeast infection treatment program. I was actually surprised when I start to read the book since it provides several natural ways to treat yeast infection permanently without the need for processed drugs and conventional treatments. And I was even more surprised to be relieved from itchiness in just two days and I don’t even need the help of those topical creams I was once dependent on. In only about three to four weeks my vaginal itchiness and burning sensations were all gone! The annoying discharge disappeared too along with the unbearable accompanying odor. And while I am writing this, I can say that I’m totally free from vaginal yeast infection and would love to know that you too put an end to a miserable experience we don’t really deserve.

Baby Thrush: How To Cure Yeast Overgrowth In Babies Naturally

Published on Sep 3rd, 2010 under Cure Yeast Infection.By

imageYeast overgrowth has become so common amongst babies that it’s downright disturbing. First of all, you have the immediate pain and discomfort of thrush – which can make life miserable both for babies and their moms.

But on a more serious note, baby thrush can also progress into a invisible, systemic yeast overgrowth that can cause a lifetime of health problems. In this age of the internet, there’s more and more awareness than ever before of the insidious nature of yeast and how it can cause or worsen all kinds of health problems, including: arthritis, asthma, allergies, autoimmune disorders, weakened immunity, learning problems, fatigue, depression, etc.

Yet what’s surprising to me is that this awareness hasn’t yet really extended to babies – it seems most people are not aware that many chronic yeast problems actually started out as baby thrush or yeast overgrowth in an infant. Treating yeast topically in a baby doesn’t get rid of the yeast overgrowth where you can’t see it. Moms especially need to be aware of this fact so they’ll be motivated to treat baby thrush at the root – this is the only way to kill the yeast permanently and also boost your child’s immunity to make sure it doesn’t come back – seen or unseen.

Baby’s deserve the best and they’re dependent on us to keep them out of harm’s way! Babies and toddlers need protection from yeast even more so than adults – because they’re newly developing organs, brains and immune systems make them even more vulnerable to yeast than adults. The best approach is to kill the yeast naturally (without toxic drugs or ineffective “home remedies”) and simultaneously to build up the body’s natural yeast defenses, so the baby thrush won’t come back.

Can Home Remedies Actually Cure Yeast Infection?

Published on Aug 27th, 2010 under Yeast Infection Remedies.By

imageThis is a tricky question. Confusions have been all there regarding the effectiveness of natural ingredients being used in the home remedies for the cure of Candida yeast infections. Different opinions can be found out regarding this issue. After a comprehensive research on the cure of yeast infection, it has been proved that the medications for this disease are not safe for the health.

They do, cure the problem for some time but have their negative effects as well. The antibiotics, vaginal creams and suppositories are effective for a temporary period. If they are killing the bad bacteria then on the other hand, they are also eating up the good bacteria which help in fighting against several other diseases. In this way, these medicines weaken the immune system of your body and you become prone to several diseases.

As this disease is caused by the imbalances inside your body and because of your unhealthy lifestyle, you should be extremely careful in dealing with it. Causes of this disease like, taking birth control pills, hormonal changes during pregnancy and menses, exposure of vagina to semen the acidic balance of the vagina and a number of other causes must be noticed on time in order to prevent your body from yeast infection.

Now, women are trying to shift on the natural ingredients and have been enjoying their benefits as well. Home remedies show positive results and are cheap in price. It is convenient for a woman to cure this problem, using home remedies, which are harmless and effective at the same time.

Following are several home remedies advised for you:

  1. Take a bath of apple cider on regular basis. In order to decrease its acidity, you can add water in it. Stay in the bath tub for an hour and let the apple cider water reach your vagina.
  2. Yogurt, known as a best ingredient for home remedy, gives you a soothing effect. Dab a tampon with yogurt and place it in your vagina, keep it for an hour or so. The healthy bacteria in yogurt will replace the unhealthy bacteria inside. You can repeat this procedure, twice or thrice a day.
  3. Drink at least two glasses of buttermilk each day, whether infected or not. Making curd a part of your daily diet decreases the probability of yeast infection.
  4. Mixture of olive leaf extract with grapefruit seed extraction in a glass of water proves to be a good curative tonic for this infection.
  5. Use few cloves of garlic or make a fine paste and apply it on the infected area.
  6. Apply honey on the affected area and keep it for several hours. Honey will balance the ph level of your skin and you will feel good after its application.
  7. Drink a glass of probiotic drink. These drinks balance the ph level inside your body. Use of these ingredients will give you a safe way to keep yourself protected from Candida yeast overgrowth.

Natural Yeast Infection Remedy

Published on Aug 25th, 2010 under Yeast Infection Remedies.By

Natural Yeast Infection RemedyYeast infection can be successfully treated in both medication (conventional) and holistic (alternative) methods. One simple thing to remember is that you must consult your doctor if you never had a yeast infection before because there are many different treatments that can be practiced.

Medication method to treat yeast infection is based on taking drugs and applying topical creams. Creams usually give relief quicker than an oral dose but popping a pill is easier but the cure rate is similar. You and your doctor need to work through to choose the best creams to be applied on the infected area. Creams provide almost immediate relief of burning, and the infection should clear in a week. These creams are generally applied for one, three or seven days.

Nystatin” is one of the common creams used to cure oral yeast infection. One of the popular medications for yeast infection treatment is “Monistat“. There are three different types of “Monistat”; “Monistat 1-Day”, “Monistat 3-Day” and “Monistat 7-Day” where the number represents the dosage needed for different yeast infections.

Monistat 1-Day” is normally used to cure vaginal yeast infections. This is commonly recommended by doctors and pharmacists. It is available over the counter; therefore you do not have to wait to get rid of the infection.

Yeastrol” is another product that you can use. It is a homeopathic yeast infection relief product that provides instant relief to multiple symptoms of a yeast infection. It comes with ingredients that have been proven to provide total relief from yeast infection. It is said to be effective for mild to most severe infections, without side effects.

One trivial fact for you, sometimes yeast infections are developed due to antibiotics medication. Antibiotics actually help to develop yeast infection. Antibiotics kill bacteria in our systems. The problem is that our bodies contain certain essential bacteria that are necessary for digestion and absorption that are also killed when we take the antibiotics. Antibiotics can also cause yeast to grow, because the normal bacteria in tissues are killed, letting the yeast grow unhampered.

How To Get Yeast Infection Relief

Published on Aug 17th, 2010 under Yeast Infection Remedies.By

How to Get Yeast Infection ReliefYou will find so many yeast infection relief remedies on the internet, books and magazines. Some of these relief remedies might work, while others might not. You therefore need to have more knowledge and understanding of the condition so that you can understand and identify the cure that suits you.

Firstly, we need relief from yeast infection because yeast infection can really do a lot of harm in our bodies. Yeast is a fungus that can overgrow and take over our systems causing so much devastation and heartache. Yeast can overgrow due to various factors including the use of birth control pills, antibiotics and steroids. It can overgrow due to certain foods we take in like beer and overly sugary foods. Diseases that suppress your immunity like diabetes and AIDS will predispose you to yeast infection. Hormonal changes in women as a result of pregnancy, menopause and menses will also cause yeast to grow.

There are several symptoms you can expect once you have yeast infection and in men, penile yeast infections common and the symptoms will include itching, whitish patches on the penile shaft, a discharge and discomfort having sex and while urinating. In women who have yeast infection of the vagina, they will experience soreness, itching, pain during sex and while urinating, a whitish discharge and others. Once you notice the symptoms, do not look for a yeast infection immediately because you are not totally sure of the infection present. Confirm with a doctor who will then recommend a suitable yeast infection relief.

There are several yeast infection reliefs and they can be natural reliefs or more contemporary ones. The most common natural yeast infection relief is the use of yogurt. Taking a lot of yogurt will keep a balance of the bacteria in the body helping get rid of unwanted numbers of yeast. The yeast contains a friendly bacterium called lactobacillus acidophilus and when applied to the affected area like vagina, the yeast will be killed and therefore bringing a relief to your yeast infection. Other home remedies that can be administered in the same way are garlic, honey, vinegar, tea tree oil and the list goes on. Boric acid is known to be very toxic and you need to seek medical help while considering this treatment. Make sure that you administer it in a safe way. Another yeast infection relief that might be harmful to pregnant women is diflucan.

The more contemporary reliefs include anti fungal creams, ointments, tablets and suppositories. You can buy many without a prescription from the doctor. It is not advised for you to self medicate if you are not sure of the condition you have. You might be treating a wrong disease which has similar symptoms. Such a disease could be a bacterial infection of the vagina, it could also be a kidney infection and many more conditions. Take time to get all the information you need. Do not rely on certain reliefs to totally cure you. Let a qualified medically trained person give you the guidelines you need to make a good decision.

How To Treat a Yeast Infection Naturally

Published on Aug 6th, 2010 under Cure Yeast Infection.By

imageYou’ve probably been reading about Vaginal Yeast Infections online, wanting to find a cure that works right now. The burning itch of Candida can drive you mad. You’ve come to the right place.

It’s quite simple and it works. Many women have gone to doctors and naturopaths with all the raging symptoms of a yeast infection, only to be put on some drug or anti-Candida diet, still leaving the nasty, crazy-making itch unattended. Or the dreaded itch returns the first time you have sex or eat too much sugar.

What Is a Yeast Infection?

Vaginal Yeast Infection is defined as an invasion or overgrowth of yeast or Candida Albicans in the vagina. A small amount of yeast is normally present in the vaginal canal, but in a healthy environment, this yeast is constantly counterbalanced and kept in check by friendlier bacterium like Lactobacillus acidophilus.

Candida manifests as a slight or overwhelming burn, itch, a curd-like discharge with an offensive odor that smells somewhat like yeast gone bad. As anyone who’s had Candida can attest, it’s an uncomfortable experience. Some experience it as low grade irritant, others as a crazy-making distraction.

What causes Candida?

There a multitude of causes for Candida or Yeast Infection, number one being antibiotics, which kill all bacteria in the body, including Candida Albicans, thus the acidophilus is no longer present to counterbalance the yeast. Doctors rarely tell their patients to take acidophilus supplements to insure healthy vaginal balance.

Others causes of Vaginal Yeast Infections are; Poor hygiene. Marathon sex. Excessively tight clothes, especially tight blue jeans which inherently rub the labia in all the wrongs ways, wearing out the thin skin and allowing for easier yeast invasion. Consumption of excessive sugars, especially when under stress, which allows for the proliferation of yeast. Uses of medical devices such as catheters and IV ports can cause openings for the entry of yeast. Dirty needles can pass yeast back and forth also. Hormonal imbalances such as PMS, pregnancy, menopause and use of birth control pills can contribute to yeast invasion. People with weakened immune systems due to cancer treatments, AIDS and diabetes can be susceptible to systemic yeast, which is throughout the body, not localized vaginally. Immune suppressing or steroid drugs.

Anyone who says you should not douche when you have a yeast invasion, is someone who’s never actually had a yeast infection. Because all you really care about in that moment is to GET RID OF THE AWFUL BURNING ITCH! The secret is what you put in your douching equipment, which can be purchased at any drug store. You probably already have the secret ingredient in your bathroom cabinet, but if not, go to your local drug store and buy some 3% Hydrogen Peroxide, which is what your mother put on your cuts and soars when you were a kid. Hydrogen Peroxide, aka H2O2, kills bacteria immediately and effectively. Remember how when your mother would put it on your cuts, it would fizz up? Well that’s H2O2 doing its job; killing bacteria. It kills yeast just as effectively. It does this magically in the vagina by fizzing up into all the moist, warm, dark crevasses that yeast loves to multiply in, and kills them dead, thus killing its major symptom; burning itch!

Is There Really A Natural Yeast Infection Medication?

Published on Jul 31st, 2010 under Yeast Infection Remedies.By

Natural Yeast Infection MedicationSuffering from any form of infection especially in this case Yeast infection could be a harrowing experience which no one would want to relive again yet infections are bound to reoccur over and over again and yeast infection is not exempted hence the need for yeast infection medication.

The attendant itching, burning and irritation caused by yeast infection can be so terrible having to go through it a second time would be devastating on self-esteem.

There are however two main questions to ask here, the first is what causes yeast infection and secondly how to effectively cure it?

Yeast infection to put it in simply terms is caused by ‘good’ bacteria gone ‘bad’ due largely to chemical balance in/on the body. Its favorite spots are moist or covered areas of the body which makes armpits and genital regions a top residence for it.

It must be said here that it occurs predominantly in genital areas simply because that area is one that is covered almost 24hours a day and also the area where lack of very good personal hygiene reveals itself. The genital region is also the host of a vast majority of bacteria.

The most common form of yeast infection is vaginal yeast infection, also known as Candida, vulvovaginal candidiasis or vaginal candidosis. It is caused by the Candida species of fungus, usually Candida albicans. This type of yeast infection is more common among women in their 30s and 40s, and those who are pregnant. And the sad news is that majority of women would be affected by vaginal yeast infection at some point in their lives and, in some women, it recurs regularly.

Candida albicans is naturally occurring bacteria found in the vagina and is harmless. However, when it multiplies it can cause irritation and swelling of the vagina and vulva. However, the very good news I am sharing with you here is that it can be treated and cured effectively. The most effective yeast infection treatment especially to prevent and also to cure it, is not medicine but by natural means. Yes! Simple steps taken to look after our health and body especially personal hygiene and wearing of loose cloths. Following these steps should get you on the way to overcoming yeast infection!

How to Treat a Yeast Infection Naturally

Published on Jul 17th, 2010 under Cure Yeast Infection.By

Treat a Yeast Infection NaturallyA whopping 75% of all women will at some point in their lives get infected with yeast infection and about 50% of these women will have the infection over and over again, the infection getting worse and worse each time it reoccurs. Many of these women have yet to discover how to treat yeast infection naturally. Here are some tips how to do that.

The symptoms of a vaginal yeast infection are soreness, swelling of the vulva, pain when urinating and when having sex and often women experience white discharge coming from the vagina.

Yeast infection is caused by an overgrowth of a bacteria called candida albicans. We all have natural bacteria in our body to protect it from invading bacteria but sometimes the bacteria overgrows and that is when we get yeast infection.

So how to treat yeast infection?

While some people always do what the doctor tells them to do (more often than not medication is involved in “the doctor´s orders”) others don’t like taking medication for everything. And although sometimes it is important to take medication it is good to know that there is an alternative, a natural cure.

To treat yeast infection naturally there are plenty of tips and how to´s.

First of all lets mention tea tree oil. It is antibacterial and is known for its healing powers. Put a small drop on a q-tip and gently massage with the q-tip into the vagina. Apple cider vinegar contains acid which is good for attacking the infection. Try the same method as with the tea tree oil. If you are experiencing a slight lighter case of yeast infection try placing a clove of garlic in the vagina. It has some anti fungal properties which have proved to be very helpful. Also try natural yogurt. Yogurt has live acidophilus bacteria that is good with fighting the bad bacteria. Simply dip a tampon in yogurt and place in the vagina.

Home Remedies For Yeast Infection – 5 Reasons

Published on Jul 1st, 2010 under Yeast Infection Remedies.By

imageYeast infections in men or women can get in the way of your sex life, they can be itchy and they can be uncomfortable. A yeast infection might show up as a rash, painful sexual intercourse, vaginal odor, depression, and tiredness or fatigue – just to name a few. It is estimated that up to 75% of the population will have a yeast infection of some sort at least once during their lifetimes: yeast infections are more common than you may have thought.

There are many doctor-prescribed and over-the-counter remedies for treating yeast infections, but there are some good reasons to go with a home remedy instead of choosing a drug-based solution.

5 reasons to choose a home remedy for your yeast infection:

1. Save money

If you get yeast infections frequently, you are likely paying a lot of money on a regular basis for cures that you buy from someone else. This can add up significantly over time, since a single treatment for an over-the-counter medicine might cost you $30 or more, with some costing as much as $300. Meanwhile, a visit to the doctor can be even more costly when you factor in the cost of the visit and the prescription medication you need to take.

2. Avoid having to visit the doctor

Visiting the doctor can be not only costly in terms of your immediate expenditures (see above), but what about the value of your time? Whether you are a stay-at-home mom, a working husband, or anybody else, it is likely that in some sense your time is money. Think about it: a visit to even the closest doctor’s office might take you an hour or more, including drive time. Many visits easily take up your whole morning or afternoon. By using a natural remedy to cure your yeast infection, you avoid that trip to the doctor that nobody likes to make.

3. Save a trip to the pharmacy

Even if you decide to go with an over-the-counter cure for your yeast infection, that decision still means a trip to your local drugstore or pharmacy to pick up the medicine. For the same reasons mentioned above, who wants the bother going out at all if you can avoid it?

4. Avoid the side effects of drug-based medicines

Orally-ingested yeast infection medications have been known to cause a range of side-effects, including nausea, headaches, and abdominal pain. Other side effects listed on one of most common over-the-counter yeast infection medications include: liver damage, severe allergic reaction, and scaly, red skin over large areas of the body. Just reading these potential side effects makes most people want to seek a natural remedy to cure their yeast infection.

5. Prevent future infections

A good natural remedy will not just mask the symptoms of a yeast infection, it will cure the very cause, often meaning the infection will never return again. This is because natural remedies work to fight the very causes of the yeast infection.

Having a yeast infection is uncomfortable, embarrassing, and not conducive to a good sex life. When deciding upon a cure, it can be a smart move to go with a natural remedy that can get you on the road to a cure more quickly, in a more convenient manner, and with less expense than when going with an over-the-counter or prescription-based remedy.

Natural Cures For Vaginal Yeast Infections – Learn How to Banish Yeast

Published on Jun 29th, 2010 under Vaginal Yeast Infection Treatment.By

imageVaginal yeast infections are the result of an overgrowth of Candida albicans, a naturally occuring fungus in our body. Certain conditions within our bodies create an environment for this fungus to grow and thrive.

Some of the common symptoms are a white cheesy discharge, unbearable itching and burning, and redness of the infected area. Everyone is different and so are the treatments. Let me tell you about a few natural cures for vaginal yeast infections.

  • Eat yogurt. It contains bacteria (live cultures, such as acidophilus and bifidus) that combat yeast. Applying it topically with an application using a tampon works best. Be sure to use only plain yogurt with active cultures
  • Douche with a solution of 2-3 tbsp vinegar in a quart of water. Repeat every day while your symptoms occur, don’t continue this treatment for anylonger than a week.
  • Cut down on sugary foods. Sugar is the food that yeast craves most.
  • Use garlic cloves as a suppository. Garlic has a fantastic assortment of anti-fungal agents. Peel a fresh clove, wrap it in gauze and insert into your vagina.
  • Gential violet is a traditional remedy for yeast and other infections, and can be found at most pharmacies. Swap the infected area once or twice daily. Use a very thick pad for the application as it makes a huge mess and stains everything it comes into contact with.
  • Another great natural remedy is an herbal douche. Combine equal parts of sage, raspberry and confrey with 1/4 part goldenseal. Combine this with cider vinegar.

Combating an overgrowth of Candida albicans can take a few tries to find out what works best for your body. Don’t get frustrated if one natural cure for vaginal yeast infection doesn’t work, just try another, keep going until you find the best for your body.
